Reaper Saw Head Blades — Hardox 450 Circular Blades | Built in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland

Manufacturing excavator attachments since 1993 — over 30 years of experience building machines and blades for forestry and agricultural contractors across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and England.

Three saw head blades, all machined and finished in our own Fermanagh workshop from Hardox 450 steel — the wear-plate grade that keeps its edge on heavy work and keeps contractors cutting. Standard fit for the McElhill Reaper 600 and Reaper 900 saw heads, also compatible with saw heads from other manufacturers where the mounting measurements match. Sold all year round, shipped across Northern Ireland, ROI and England.

Built to earn their keep, not sit in a scrap pile. When the teeth wear down, bring the blade back to us and we'll re-tooth or re-tip it in the workshop — new teeth welded on, dressed and balanced, ready to run another season. That is the difference between a blade built by a manufacturer and a blade bought off the shelf.

Why Hardox 450?

Hardox 450 is a wear-resistant steel with a hardness of around 450 HBW, engineered for heavy abrasion. In a saw head blade, that means the cutting edge stays sharper for longer under real contractor use — thick scrub, unexpected stones, the lot. Cheaper blades made from softer steel lose their edge faster and end up in the scrap pile inside a season. A Hardox 450 blade from our workshop is built to outlast them, and when it finally wears we weld new teeth on and send it back to work.

Recuts & Re-tips — Our Blades Earn Their Keep

Most blade suppliers sell you a blade and walk away. We build the blade, and we service it too. When the teeth on a Fine Cut blade wear down, we recut new teeth straight into the Hardox body. When the teeth on a Rough Cut blade wear down, we weld fresh teeth back on. Either way, one call brings the blade back to life for a fraction of the price of a new one.

Important — do not send a blade in without speaking to us first. Send photos, get an honest opinion over the phone, then arrange a courier to bring the blade to the workshop. Not every blade can be brought back — if it is too far gone or the body is damaged, a recut or re-tip is not safe or economical.

Gary gives his honest opinion over the phone, you arrange a courier to deliver the blade to Fermanagh at your cost, and once the blade is in the workshop you get a confirmed price over the phone before any work starts. Keep a spare running — no downtime in a short season. Cutting season runs 1 September to 28 February and Irish weather steals days off the calendar. Contractors running more than one of our blades rotate: send one in for a recut or re-tip while the other stays on the machine. The blade you are not using is the one earning you money next week.

Saw Head Compatibility

All three blades are the standard fit for the McElhill Reaper saw head range. They are also compatible with saw heads from other manufacturers where the mounting bolt pattern, centre bore and overall blade dimensions match. Running a saw head from another maker? Delivery & Collection

We deliver across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and England via a trusted local haulage company. Blades are palletised and securely packaged for safe transit.
